Paris – Valentines City Breaks

Think of the ultimate Valentine’s Day destination…got Paris in mind?

I’m sure for many of you this city was the first thing you thought of. The question is, what is it about Paris that has deemed it a hub of romantic atmosphere? For me, I can think of a few factors; the architecture of ornate buildings mixed with rustic restorations, long tree paved streets, the Eiffel Tower sparkling at night, museums full of beautiful art. There is a relaxed, laid back sense to be found in Paris.

Certainly, Paris does seem to provide the perfect backdrop for a romantic holiday. If you are planning a short break to this dreamy destination, you will not fall short of things to do. The most popular destinations in Paris are popular for a reason; so don’t miss out on walking down the Champs Elysees, seeing- or, if you’re particularly enthusiastic, climbing- the Eiffel Tower, the Sacre Coeur, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre, Notre Dame…the list could go on forever.

Whilst this set of cultural and historical attractions are great all year round and would provide a perfect activity for Valentine’s Day, you could go particularly romantic by taking a chocolate tasting tour, which takes you around the best chocolate shops in the city, or go ice-skating hand in hand in one of the city’s outdoor rinks. Then finish the day off with a romantic dinner cruise on the River Seine.

And just like your itinerary, your accommodation options are limitless. Paris is separated into twenty different ‘arrondissements’ or areas, and each one provides a slightly different experience. Marais is spread across the third and fourth arondissements, and is a fashionable area full of artists, and trendy restaurants and galleries; Montmartre is in the eighteenth arondissement, mainly known for the Sacre Coeur; and the first arrondissement is home to the Tuileries gardens, Louvre and Arc de Triomphe. Whatever area you choose, there are plenty of chic self catering holiday rentals in Paris to stay in. Imagine waking up, walking to your balcony with a view of the Eiffel Tower and enjoying a croissant…with that in mind, start planning your Valentine’s Day break!

Whatever your tastes and preferences, Paris truly is the perfect platform for your romantic break. So if you are planning on a Valentine’s Day holiday, booking a holiday apartment in Paris is the sure-fire option to ensure an amorous adventure.
